Eaton Mission Systems, formerly Cobham Mission Systems is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer I that will work with a dynamic team at our growing Westminster, MD facility. Summary: The Mechanical Design Engineer I will facilitate the design of new and legacy products for the Aerospace industry supporting manned and unmanned flights, Life Support applications in commercial and military platforms, and defense industry platforms. Key Responsibilities: Entry-level Mechanical Design Engineers are responsible for working on various technical efforts pertaining to the product design while adhering to standard practices and procedures Work will be performed in a design and development team environment with direct supervision by an Engineering Manager. Regular tasks include the design and development of new products in an R&D environment, support to production and timely issue resolution. Mechanical Design Engineers may participate in company-wide engineering initiatives and activities, as well as provide technical input to non-engineering support staff. Why work at Eaton? This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. “Green Card Holder”), Political Asylee or Refugee. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the facility will be considered. Preferred Qualifications: Related previous professional experience including Internships, etc. Familiarity with mechanical design, composite, pneumatics, hydraulics, FEA, and vibration & shock Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD Ideal candidates are passionate individuals who strive to create innovative solutions using proven technical aptitude.
