Candidate will be part of the growing of in-house design capability, and we
are looking for an advisory engineer with server design experience, and
project team leadership experience. Candidate will be part of the Data Center
Group responsible for server development at Lenovo. You will be working with
peers across worldwide design centers to share common building block designs,
and deliver high quality products to our customers.

Responsibilities
• creating in-house developed server designs including printed circuit board
layouts, structural sheet metal enclosures, and plastic part designs in our
next generation servers.
• Work with architects to close on a design concept, then develop and validate
the design. Candidate must be capable of creating designs, co-working with
other team member’s, and solving design bugs when they arise.
• Work in a close team environment, interacting with the thermal, power,
system, and extended team members, to achieve a design, which meets the
business and marketing requirements.
• Responsible for contributing to common building block designs used across
our portfolio. You will report weekly project status to management.

#### Position Requirements:


• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience using the PTC Creo CAD tool and PTC
Windchill for CAD data file management.
• A Bachelor's Degree Mechanical Engineering degree is required.
• Technical skills required include three dimensional computer design
engineering skills, including sheet metal and plastic part design.
• This position requires proficiency using Microsoft products including
spreadsheets, email, and instant message, and Sharepoint database.
• Skills to manage engineering changes, bill of material creation, cost
estimating and tolerance analysis is required.
• Knowledge of server industry standards and compliance industry standards is
expected.
• Hands on experience with assembling and testing servers, and using basic
mechanical tools is a plus.

Soft Skill Requirement
•Candidate must have strong communication skills for negotiating design
details that support the product marketing requirements.
• Strong written skills are required to document mechanical specifications for
the product, and reports of test results.
• Understanding of marketing requirements, and the ability to implement them
into robust, cost effective designs.
• This position requires ability to interact effectively with suppliers, and
to advise and delegate design deliverable. Creative thinking, problem-solving
capability, leadership skills, and teaming skills are also required. This is
not a project management position, but having strong organization skills is
preferred.
