Eaton’s Electrical Sector, Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure (CPDI) division is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Raleigh, NC facility. Position Overview: Eaton's Critical Power & Digital Infrastructure Division in Raleigh, NC is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to support the 3-Phase UPS Service Life Extension Program. This position is responsible for the development and release of 3-phase UPS product modification offerings for UPS products that are commisioned and approaching end of life. In this function you will: Perforrm site-specific engineering analysis to provide solutions that extend product life and reliability. Lead teardown details, including BOM of exisiting commissioned products. Design refurbishment of products with the latest components and sub-assemblies. Design validation of mechanical system performance, including thermal and ease of assembly and service. Collaborate with global engineering resources to perform air-flow simulation and develop BOM and assembly drawings. Participate in obtaining regulatory submissions. Develop product drawings and documentation. Support transition to manufacturing and service. Schedule compliance with service, customer requirements and other engineering members. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution Minimum of 3 years of mechanical engineering experience with an emphasis in energy related products Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the work location will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred qualifications: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution Experience with product modification development efforts Experience using modeling tools such as Creo, Anysys and/or Icepack design tools Training on Design for Six Sigma concepts Position Criteria: Experience in one or more of the following subjects: Manufacturing Operations, Electrical Designs, Service Operations, and Global Engineering Attention to detail Excellent verbal/ written communications Position requires an individual who is self-motivated, self-managed, team-oriented, proactive, attentive to detail, task oriented, and able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements We provide benefits that are industry competitive and focused on employee well-being.
