Role Summary: The Engineer provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.
Essential Responsibilities: • Mechanical Engineering assignments involve multiple tasks and programs for LED systems in General Illumination.

• Cooperate with LED Systems design engineer on the mechanical design for the LED product.
• Utilize Mechanical Engineering tools (SolidWorks) and business productivity tools to develop prototype and production solutions
• Participate in defining product requirements
• Translate functional specifications into mechanical design requirements. Employ Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies in applying functional specifications.
• Work with engineering team to meet program objectives including performance, scheduling and cost.
• Use best practices and accepted New Product Introduction (NPI) process to assure success of assigned project.
• Maintain drawing/documentation vault and drawing revision levels
• Support vendor evaluation for technical and cost issues. Interface with vendors to assure compliance to drawing and product specifications, Quality Control documentation and support Advance Quality Planning activities.
• Mentor other Mechanical Engineers within global team in design and drawing techniques
• Conduct simulations and test evaluations of the mechanical design.
• Optimize the design for cost competitiveness and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with PMQE on the manufacture process review and improvement

Qualifications/Requirements: • BS in Mechanical Engineering from accredited university

• At least 5 years engineering experience with BS degree or 2~3 years working experience with MS degree
• Minimum 3 years engineering experience with demonstrated capabilities in 3D CAD design and tolerance analysis
• Good understanding of sheet metal, casting and plastic injection processes
• at least 2 years Mechanical design experience, Experience of LED/Lighting product design is preferred
• Able to use English as working language.

Desired Characteristics: • Able to use at least two of the software to do mechanical design (ProE, AutoCad, Solidworks, etc)

• Knowledge of Industrial products design and manufacturing
• Experience with LED industrial is preferred
• Six Sigma Green Belt certification is preferred
