As a Mechanical Engineering Co-Op you will be responsible for: Solid modeling for medical device design: Create concept recommendations for new designs, new processes, or design changes to meet requirements Utilize 3D CAD software to model concepts and/ or design changes, producing solid models and drawings that can be released to production Explain and clarify information to enable proper interpretation and evaluation of specifications, performance characteristics, or other technical data Verification and validation of concepts: Communicate designs with outsourced vendors, request quotes Create purchase requests to order components for validation Validate components designed by intern or others within the department Communicate validation process and results Product life cycle management: Complete material specification and schematic preparation, follow up to ensure proper and effective implementation Perform testing of new designs and modifications of solutions Communicate technical and commercial issues to others within mechanical engineering and/ or other functional departments This position may suit you best if you are familiar with what is below, and would like to do develop your career with Healthineers You have good PC skills (MS Office software like Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook) You will be working with our latest technology and therefore you are willing to learn about new software and hardware solutions Required skills to have for the success of this role Preferred 3.0 GPA Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program (minimum rising junior preferred) Mechanical Engineering Majors preferred Minimum work timeframe is semester plus.
