In field of internal combustion engines Eaton has been one of the largest producers of both valves and valve actuation products for over 75 years. In order to maintain the leading position in the market Eaton is investing its extensive system expertise and engineering excellence in the development of new technologies for the Valve Trains to help engine OEM to meet fuel consumption and emissions level as per future regulation requirements. For this reason Eaton is looking for Mechanical System Engineer/Analyst for European Advanced Valve Train engineering team. This person will have the responsibility to analyse and help to develop variable valvetrain systems for internal combustion engines.

Eaton Advanced Valve Train product line is part of the Engine Air Management group with a broader goal to support future engine efficiency growth. Therefore it is also required to interact with engineering teams of other product lines inside EAM to achieve this common goal.

Your key deliverables :

• Conducts component/system analysis through kinematic and dynamic analysis using GT-SUITE of valvetrain components, system and related sub-systems.
• Performs design evlauations to aid Valvetrain product development.
• Conceives technical solutions (concepts) to achieve the desired Valvetrain function within the constraints provided by the customer/internal guidelines.
• Champions model based development and implementation of new engineering systems and processes using analytical tool (GT-SUITE). Continuous improvement of existing engineering systems and processes.
• Trains product engineers in the use of analytical tools and engineering systems used in product development.
• Creates technical project reports and oversees the validation activities. Reports analysis results in a clear and concise manner, and makes design recommendations.
 

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited institution
• 2 years of engineering experience in Valvetrain or Mechanical System
• Legally authorized to work in Europe

Desired:

• Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
• At least 2 years of engineering experience in a product development environment
• Experience with vehicle engine technologies (valves, valve actuation technology)
• Experience with GT Suite / Valvetrain
• Experience with cam design.
• Experience of using CAD PTC Creo is an advantage, but not essential
• Understanding of Internal Combustion Engines is an advantage
