Job Overview
 
The company that first introduced the vehicle 130 years ago, that has continued to pioneer Advanced Driver Assistance Systems technology in commercial vehicles and brought the first automated commercial vehicle to public roads is changing transportation…again! Daimler Trucks is establishing a new, international department to bring highly automated driving technologies to series production.

In this role you will be the bridge between the Automated Truck Group and the Series Production Engineering team.  Your specific focus will be the Braking systems for the next generation automated vehicles.  This is an emerging, exciting technology, and the right person will drive DTNA's success by helping our engineering department, customers and network adopt the new vehicles into their operations.
 
Responsibilities
- Support the development of automated trucks at Daimler Trucks North America.

- Collaborate with the Automated Truck Group (ATG) and series engineering teams on current development status.

- Develop an understanding of projects inside and outside of automated trucks, which affect Anti-lock Brake Systems (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC). Traction Control, Electronic Braking Systems (EBS) and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

- Collaboratively identify areas where leveraging resources can fulfill projected needs by the automated teams.

- Have a solid understanding of specifications requirements involved in ABS, ESC, Traction Control, EBS, and ADAS Braking electronic control systems that ensure safe and reliable automated designs.

- Support implementation of robust redundant braking designs.

- Understand industry best practices, ensuring those practices are adhered and implemented, as it relates to the Braking systems.

- Ensure a robust process exists to bring automated designs to series production.

- Pursue continued education regarding technologies as it relates to the Braking systems. 

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, Controls Engineer or related fields from an accredited college/university with 3 + years of related experience; OR applicable Master's degree with 1 year of experience required

- Work Experience with Electrical and Mechanical Engineers required 

- An attached resume is required 


Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with Vehicle Communication Buses (CAN, LIN, etc) preferred


- Commercial Driver License preferred


- Product Development Experience preferred


- System Integration and Validation Experience preferred
