This position joins a Mechanical R&D team which promotes an open and collaborative team culture responsible for the development of innovative virtual integration methods. The team develops and deploys cutting edge simulation and testing tools and capabilities in the form of Simcenter 3D-based Structural FEA, homegrown motion control models, and other System Dynamics and multi-physics models to enable Design Engineers exploit Virtual Design and Integration attributes. As a Modeling & Simulation Intern, you will be responsible for one or more of the following: • Develop efficient workflows for Acoustic and Vibration response simulations of large-scale assemblies. • Develop system dynamics models of Mechatronic (Fluidic / Motion/ Thermal) systems. • Explore and develop Reduced-Order Modeling approaches for these systems • Explore/Develop Design Optimization approaches This position may suit you best if you are familiar with what is below, and would like to do develop your career with Healthineers • Currently pursuing BS (Senior) / Masters or PhD in ME/EE/AE/ Bio-medical Engg • Good understanding of Mechanics (Solid/Structural and Fluid Mechanics) and Dynamics/Vibration theory; Prior exposure to Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and/or other computational methods • Basic mathematical modeling and statistical/signal/data analysis Required skills to have for the success of this role • Bachelor’s (Senior) / Master’s degree or equivalent experience (ME, EE, Aerospace/ Aeronautical Engg) required • Ability to conduct research and investigations independently • Must have a GPA of 3.2 or better • Must be comfortable working onsite while following company-mandated COVID-19 protocol, as well as working in a fully virtual environment Required/Preferred knowledge/skills, education, and experience • Good understanding of Applied Mechanics (Dynamics & Vibrations, Solid/Structural Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics) • Basic understanding of Data analysis, Signal processing Concepts is desirable • Intermediate-to-high level experience with Finite Element Analysis and/or other Computational Mechanics tools is highly desirable • Prior CAD experience would be helpful to the internship. • Previous engineering internship and/or co-op experience would be desirable Start Date: May 2022 At Siemens Healthineers, we value those who dedicate their energy and passion to a greater cause.
