You will be responsible for develop strategy and media proposal for clients, driving best practice and managing the operational relationship on designated clients and agency teams.

Reporting of the role

This role reports to Head of Insights, MediaCom China. This associate insight acts as key contact window of insight team for internal and external clients.

Tasks & Measurements

In three months:

  • Got familiar with MediaCom and GroupM capabilities and work that we do for clients
  • Connected with key stakeholders within the group and external partners
  • Connected with the Strategy, Planning and Analytics teams within MediaCom/GroupM/WPP
  • Started working on pilot projects for measurement
  • Measurement:
  • Quickly be familiar with assigned clients.
  • Establish a trusted relationship with internal clients. Independently solve the content request raising from client team.

In six months:

  • Started exploring opportunities to build MediaCom’s measurement solutions with understanding clients’ needs and strategic planning.
  • Worked on the collaboration of internal partners and external partners
  • Developed potential directions for building MediaCom measurement solutions
  • Measurement:
  • Independently provide quality insight related support to client teams.
  • Provide the direction in insight in campaigns.

In 12 months:

  • Established measurement solutions with leveraging MediaCom/GroupM’s resources
  • Successfully measured pilot and important campaigns with the value generated to communication planning
  • Helped to elevate the client’s perception of MediaCom’s measurement capabilities as part of driving better strategic planning and thought-leadership
  • Measurement:
  • Contribute to new business
  • Maintain good relationship with SP team and client.
  • Clearly knows where to find the resource to solve client’s needs.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Building systematic communication measurement solutions for MediaCom to evaluate campaign effectiveness with truly understanding of client’s business and communication needs and objectives.
  • Leading the measurement projects and generate value out of them.
  • Working efficiently with China, regional and global MediaCom teams on multi-country work and applying global tools/insights in the local market.
  • Thought Leadership – improving the agency’s standing in the marketplace through cutting-edge measurement solutions and practices.
  • Working with internal partners or external vendors for different solutions efficiently.
  • Ensuring sharing best practice with clients, internal teams and a wider external audience.
  • Leveraging experiences and knowledge to support new business pitches and key existing clients’ strategy needs.

What you will need:

  • At least 5-7 years of research experience.
  • Experienced in Communication Measurement in research houses, particular ad/campaign pre-and-post measurement, brand tracking, etc. Measurement experience in China is a must.
  • Passion for research and measurement, and able to derive true value and story out of it.
  • Consultancy skills. Excellent client facing skills with an ability to understand clients’ needs clearly and provide suitable thinking and solutions.
  • Project management. Ability to manage different parties/partners/vendors and consistently, to deliver high-quality work on schedule.
  • Innovative thinking. Besides the common/existing research approaches and resources, able to develop new/innovative approaches to meet clients’ needs.
  • Excellent presentation and writing skills. Ability to clearly communicate measurement solution and analysis results and concisely distill into actionable insights. Accuracy. A very high attention to detail is required when gathering and processing data from a wide variety of sources.
  • Interpersonal skills. Ability to demonstrate and maintain credibility, and consequently, build strong working relationships with other divisions, partner agencies, agency network and the Insight team. Team player with entrepreneurial “can do” attitude.
  • Graduate capability (statistics, business or marketing degree preferred but not essential)
  • Fluent oral and written English is essential, Mandarin desirable
