You will have the opportunity to further build upon our Immunology legacy, expanding impact on patient lives with two product launches in IBD on short notice. In addition, our pipeline includes additional products aiming to address unmet needs in Gastroenterology. As our Medical Advisor you display strong medical leadership as to lead and support quality of care initiatives and indications in Gastroenterology. You take a consultative approach, being the subject matter expert by having in-depth scientific knowledge on the unmet needs and new treatment strategies in Gastroenterology. Your responsibilities In collaboration with and under the responsibility of the Medical Manager Gastroenterology develop and execute a comprehensive medical affairs plan and medical strategy. Collaborate with in-field team members to execute brand / account plans through aligned Functional and Scientific Interaction Plans. Serve as the point of contact within the medical affairs team for HCPs. Gain insights relevant to the strategic brand planning process and, together with the Medical Manager, provide input in the development of a cross functional, insight-driven brand strategy. Provide medical and scientific expertise to brand team and in-field team to support the brand and account strategy and drive executional excellence. Deliver credible presentations on scientific matters to physicians, individually or in groups, when relevant. Collaborate with Clinical Site Management colleagues in the initiation, oversight and follow up of current and future studies in Gastroenterology to ensure rapid and flawless execution of the clinical trial program. Serve as the in-field medical lead for medical projects initiated within the therapeutic area. Attend and participate in relevant (national and international) scientific meetings and conferences. Collaborate to develop summaries of key data and other scientifically relevant information to optimize AbbVie strategic priorities and initiatives. Ensure that all activities and interactions are conducted with due regard to all applicable local, global and national laws, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct, company policies and accepted standards of best practice. Qualifications Your qualifications Academic, biomedical degree (medicine, pharmaceutical sciences/pharmacy, biology, medical biology). Minimum of 2 years of medical affairs experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Preference for experience in gastroenterology and/or (pre-)launch experience. Experience in an in-field (medical) position is an advantage as the role requires significant field presence to gather insights from external stakeholders and to execute on the medical functional plan. Proactively establishes relationships and engages in regular interactions with other (in-field) team members. Displays a high-level understanding of the healthcare system combined with a robust comprehension of market trends enabling him/her to anticipate optimal business decisions in a triple win approach (patient/account/AbbVie). Demonstrates strong sense of urgency, independence, ownership and gets things done. Fluent in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
