AstraZeneca Central Eastern Europe – Baltic marketing company is a fast paced and evolving organization focused on excellence in science, brands and people. Representing 11 countries, we have offices in Budapest, Bucharest, Prague, Warsaw, Belgrade, Sofia, Zagreb, Ljubljana, Riga, Tallinn, Vilnius. We are expanding our medical team and are hiring for the Medical Advisor Haemato-Oncology in Estonia.

The role

As the Medical Advisor Haemato-Oncology, you are responsible for collaborating with HCPs and other relevant stakeholders to share important scientific information to inform clinical practice.

You as a Medical Advisor will develop and implement the medical strategy of our Haematology and Oncology portfolio, and in close cross-functional collaboration define the local strategies to enable access to innovative treatment solutions. Also, you will be the local lead in defining the evidence generation strategy (incl RWE/RWD projects) as well as providing input into study feasibility for international & regional studies, where relevant. You will ensure implementation and conduct of expanded access programs and/or individual patient supply programs.

Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate closely with HCPs, and other experts, to ensure appropriate use of established and future AZ products
  • Contribute in developing study concepts, identify new opportunities, and work closely with national investigators to generate data to help inform clinical practice
  • Ensure medical and local input related to e.g. feasibility, site selection and site follow up in clinical trials (AZ and investigator initiated trials). And support of available early access programs
  • Drive proactive and reactive interactions through collecting and sharing medical and scientific knowledge across the oncology portfolio
  • Act as a local Haematology and Oncology expert, actively collaborating with other functions within areas of expertise
  • Work cross-functionally to provide medical input on disease area and product strategies, cross functional plans and key deliverables including reimbursement dossiers
  • Work closely with colleagues across Baltics to execute the Medical Affairs Oncology strategy
  • Collaborate with, and provide medical support to Medical Information and Regulatory Affairs
  • Responsible for medical review in the sign-off process for materials
  • Assure quality and deliverables are in accordance with written procedures and current legal requirements and internal standards 

Essential requirements:

  • Master degree in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry or natural sciences
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is required, incl. excellent knowledge of pharmaceutical drug development and local health care system 
  • Previous experience within Medical Affairs function and experience within haematology and  oncology is preferred
  • Proven ability to understand, assimilate and communicate scientific information and present this with high impact
  • Structured, organized and able to keep deadlines without compromising on quality
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate both externally and internally Demonstrates examples of efficient external stakeholder collaborations
  • High ethical standards and good knowledge in pharmaceutical ethical framework
  • Excellent knowledge in English and Estonian languages.
  • Driver’s license required
