AstraZeneca Oncology has a long tradition in personalized treatment, and we are currently establishing our newest Therapy Franchise - Hematology. With a growing pipeline and early access programs ahead, we now seek a hardworking and motivated Medical Advisor Hematology to form AstraZeneca´s Hematology footprint in Finland.

The role

The Medical Advisor Hematology will support building the hematology team internally as well as establishing AstraZeneca`s presence in the external area. You will be responsible for capturing insights, mapping the hematological ecosystem, and engaging with partners in the respective countries.

You will support the strategy and clinical development of our hematology products as well as contribute to international & regional studies.

In this role, you ensure implementation and conduct of expanded access programs, and safety studies. You will act as a local oncology specialist by sharing significant scientific information with other internal functions and supporting potential HCP initiated clinical research.

As Medical Advisor Hematology, you will be expected to attend and involve in cross-functional meetings and projects, both on a Nordic/Baltic and local level. In this function, you provide scientific input and insights into real world evidence studies assembled in collaboration with internal and external partners. You will join a growing team of passionate and dedicated Medical Advisors, Oncology.

The role will be reporting to the Therapeutic Area Lead, covering Nordic overarching activities and the team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with HCPs, and other specialists, to ensure appropriate use of established and future AZ products
  • Work cross-functionally to provide medical input on product strategies, cross functional plans and key results including reimbursement dossiers
  • Contribute in developing study concepts, identify new opportunities, and work closely with national investigators to generate data to help inform clinical practice
  • Assure quality and outputs are in accordance with written procedures and current legal requirements and internal standards
  • Align with colleagues across Nordic/Baltic to execute the Medical Affairs Hematology strategy

Essential requirements

We are looking for you who holds a Master´s degree in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry or relevant Life Science. MD and/or PhD is desired.

  • High ethical standard and good knowledge in pharmaceutical ethical framework
  • Proven ability to understand, assimilate and communicate scientific information
  • Structured, organized, and achieving targets without compromising on quality
  • Driver’s license required

You are a professional with proven track record within hematology from clinical practice, the pharmaceutical industry, and / or the Medical Affairs function.

Your business-focus thinking without compromising the scientific elements of your work will be as important for the role as will your excellent understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, health care systems and payer structures in the Nordic countries.

The Medical Advisor engages and cultivates relationships with external and internal partner. You therefore need to have excellent communication and presentations skills, proficient in both written and spoken English and Finnish.
