As the Medical Affairs Director, you are accountable for the strategic direction, business planning and operational efficiency of your function.
Key Responsibilities
- As part of the Country Leadership Team, establish objectives and strategies in your department, and guide execution plans in alignment with the corporate vision and ambition
- Build scientific leadership through leading the team to provide medical and clinical expertise in key therapy and disease areas
- Ensure adherence to processes and regulations in execution plans
- Represent the company where necessary to engage with Key External Experts (KEEs) and in scientific exchange meetings and advisory board meetings
- Seek knowledge of global issues and ensure these are incorporated into the overall strategy and execution
- Hire, develop and retain top talents by ensuring rigour in talent reviews and succession planning and in championing people development activities
- Ensure a culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance is embedded in all business practices alongside full accountability for effective oversight and transparent upward reporting of compliance status in partnership with Global Compliance
Essential Requirements
- A qualified doctor with extensive experience in Medical Affairs function within a pharmaceutical industry
- Deep understanding of the latest medical, scientific and regulatory developments
- You have multiple successful stories of developing people in your team
- You have developed sound and inspirational leadership agility having led multiple aspects of your practice area
