It has been agreed that our AstraZeneca UK Commercial head office will move from Luton to Pancras Square, London in early 2022. This role will be initially based in our Luton office, until this move takes place.

Our move to Pancras Square offers us the strongest possible platform to transform the lives of patients in the UK, as the country’s leading biopharmaceutical company. It will bring AstraZeneca UK closer to our customers, partners and stakeholders in the UK’s healthcare environment, as well as foster greater collaboration with the wider AstraZeneca footprint.

What you'll do

  • Lead the Medical input to business strategic and operational planning for the TA, including development and delivery of objectives of the Medical plan
  • Lead delivery of clinical insight, patient focus and clinical governance from the TA Patient Pathway to work with the NHS to improve patient outcomes
  • Act to ensure GCP requirements are fully complied with and in line with the local Quality Management System (QMS) SOP and all other AZ policies and Standards

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Track record of leadership across the medico-marketing interface
  • Prior experience in a Medical Affairs role
  • Proven ability to interact with external customers
  • Evidence of effective team working and accountability
  • Experience of budget management
  • Demonstratable experience of working on patient pathways in the NHS
  • Project management skills
  • It is mandatory for the performance of this role to hold or successfully acquire Nominated Signatory status

Desirable

  • Technical expertise in the Respiratory therapy area
  • Extensive experience of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Proven expertise in the ABPI Code of Practice
  • Extensive patient and customer insight through experience of working with the NHS
