Medical Director/COQ holder
Role Responsibility

- Associate Director/COQ holder of record for the Laboratory for the Farmingdale laboratories, discharging the responsibilities described in Part 19.3© (1), (1) through (11) of 10 NYCRR (State of NY code of Rules and Regulations) and the College of American Pathologists’ requirements (as stated in the “Laboratory Director Assessment” Inspection Checklist).* for Pathology
- Monitors standards of performance, quality control, and quality improvement, including external proficiency programs.
- Responsible for Quality assurance program in pathology covering, pre analytical, analytical and post analytical areas.
- Responsible for technical oversight in Laboratory, and bringing in new methodologies as required.
- Responsible for technical oversight Laboratory,
- Responsible for standardization
- Maintains comprehensive knowledge of current medical advancements through continued education and memberships.
- Is responsible for the CE credits
- Serves as the medical officer for all staff members, consultants and clients.
- Provides medical expertise in specific areas of clinical pathology to the laboratory as well as the project management; SA and business development departments.
- Approves SOP’s and is responsible to oversee training
- Author’s documents, re4views research and clinical protocols pertinent to daily operations and future business as required.
- Travel (approximately 1%) domestic and/or international

- Ability to deal with high stress situations, ability to managing competing priorities
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven success in client and regulatory audits
- Knowledge of MS Outlook, Work and Excel
- Certification from NYS , CAP or local equivalent
