Our location in Lake Forest, Illinois currently has an opportunity for a Medical Education Associate.
This is an in-house role, incumbent must be onsite.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Medical Education Associate is responsible for preparing and reviewing technical documents, infographics and presentations for use as medical education.
Participates with internal and external content creators to prepare educational content; including infographics, flowcharts, and presentations.
Serves as the Medical Writing representative on team.
Ensures that educational content aligns and appropriately meets copyright regulations.
Ensures effective and timely communication and monitoring of content build timelines.
Participates in cross functional team activities related to education.
Performs responsibilities and tasks under the direction of Scientific Affairs or Medial Affairs leadership.
Main responsibilities include:
Confirms that educational content is presented in a clear, complete, accurate, and concise manner.
Assesses educational content to determine whether citations are necessary and reviews all citations for accuracy.
Reviews, edits, assembles, and inspects educational content.
Arranges and conducts review meetings with internal and external content creators.
Acts as interface to resolve issues and questions arising during writing process.
May recommend and implement process improvements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Required
Bachelor's degree in Science, Medical Technology, English, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years relevant professional experience, in a related area such as R&D, Technical Product Development, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Research, or Medical Writing.
Good written and oral communication skills. Superior attention to detail. Ability to find and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, consistency, clarity, and accuracy.
Good working knowledge of personal computer software programs in Windows environment.
Good communication, interpersonal, and team skills.
Ability to critically review own work before sending out for internal/external review by team.
Preferred
American Medical Writers Association (AMWA) certification is desired, with a specialty in Editing/Writing or Pharmaceutical.
1-4 years writing experience as a medical writer in the health care industry preferred.
Knowledge of ADD products desirable.
Fluent in word processing, flow diagrams and spreadsheets.
Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.
