As Medical Evidence Lead your mission will be lead the Medical Evidence Generation Team towards the design, planning and execution of integrated evidence generation and IVS strategies for payers and prescribers, proactively evaluating and engaging in projects that use innovative technology as a tool to maximise collection and interpretation of relevant medical information to achieve objectives, with a clear focus on patients.

Responsabilities

  • Lead the evolution of the current Evidence Generation team towards the new way of thinking and working model, in close collaboration with Market Access and other functions involved.
  • Coordinate and animate the current Evidence Generation team of excellence to ensure success, building and creating a culture of development and fostering an adequate motivation and working atmosphere.
  • Drive, promote and advocate the Evidence generation community across functions.
  • Lead team performance, managing and developing tools (activity dashboards, performance reviews, coaching, feedback).
  • Support team development, focusing on the consolidation of its strengths and the strengthening of improvement areas, ensure implementation of Performance Management plans, develop skills and scientific leadership of the team.
  • Ensure team’s and individuals’ level of competence as well as their compliance to current legal requirements and internal standards.
  • Medical Leadership including an active role in the MC Medical Leadership team
  • Lead further development of RWE generation and utilisation in the Marketing Company (MC) as a key contact for RWE related issues.
  • Lead Medical Evidence Generation activities in the Marketing Company to demonstrate value related to AstraZeneca brands and business, ensuring their impactful implementation.
  • Maximise collection and interpretation of relevant medical information using technology with an innovative approach
  • Support implementation of the overall AstraZeneca business strategy, engaging with Brand teams members as needed (i.e. Marketing, Business Insights, Finance...)
  • Co-lead (with Market Access) Value teams in order to identify, share and address needs to maximize evidence generation for HCPs/ payers including IVS agreements with “Price & Reimbursement” or Regional/Hospital access scope.
  • Facilitate Evidence Planning to optimise development of value stories and reimbursement dossiers.
  • Provide RWE generation expertise and support planning and delivery of Medical Evidence projects from idea to publication, as applicable.
  • Lead implementation and development of the process and procedures for RWE and ESR Publication needs assessment and support of publication related activities.
  • Support and review development of study documents (i.e. feasibilities, protocols, CRFs, statistical analysis plan…)
  • Support partnership with external stakeholders and service providers, specifically RWD platform owners/providers.
  • Facilitate and support allocation of RWE and ESR activities in the Marketing Company.
  • Explore ways to prioritize and ensure focus on studies and projects that add value according to the new Integrated Evidence Generation and IVS strategies.
  • Review and approval of agreements and collaboration, as required, with external investigators, clinicals, payers, consulting companies, external service providers and other organisations, as applicable.
  • Guarantee Medical Evidence function deliveries, including scientific and strategy aspects as well as budget and resource management.
  • Develop and implement RWE methodology.
  • Deliver and communicate timely functional deliveries/updates.
  • Assure quality of tasks in accordance with written procedures and current legal requirements and internal standards.
  • Contribute to Externally Sponsored Research (ESR) including alignment with strategic needs as well as with regulations and AZ Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Project portfolio management, including project prioritisation and resource planning.
  • Budget management
  • Collect and interpret relevant medical information: Artificial Intelligence (AI) systems, Big Data, Machine Learning, studies with Adaptive Design, studies with HER-data extraction and collection, etc…
  • Project the image and corporate values of AstraZeneca in internal and external interactions.
  • Lead the evolution to the way of thinking and collaborating with Market Access, Medical Affairs and Marketing required by the new “Integrated Evidence Generation and IVS” model, through an “inspiring by doing” behaviour.
  • Ensure bridging of Commercial and Medical agenda.
  • Collaborate and interact with other AstraZeneca MCs, Europe region and Global Medicine Development regarding Medical Evidence activities.
  • With an entrepreneurial leadership, ensure synergies within Medical Evidence teams and cross-functionality with the transverse teams: Marketing, Promotion, Market Access, Regulatory Affairs, Clinical Operations, Pharmacovigilance, Medical Information, and Training.
  • Guarantee that all work-related activities comply with applicable external and internal regulations (policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and code of conduct).

Requirements

Minimum Requirements – Education and Experience

  • Education: Master’s Degree in natural science or equivalent
  • Experience in people management and leadership
  • Experience of Clinical Development in Pharmaceutical Business (>10 years) and extensive knowledge from work in observational research area
  • Proven ability to lead and influence in a cross-functional and multidisciplinary context
  • Ability to set and manage priorities, resources, performance targets and project initiatives in a multinational matrix environment.
  • High integrity and ethical standards
  • English: C1
  • Microsoft Office: Advanced Level.
