Job Description

Primary Function / Primary Goals / Objectives:

The responsibility of this position is to give scientific support to the business within the framework of a sound strategy and relevant targeted tactics.

  • Provides consultation to all aspects of product commercialization, including product performance, customer communications, and scientific marketing.
  • Provides scientific support in the resolution of product issues and promotion of Consumer health products. 
  • Represent company among medical authorities and allied health care practioners in the market by active participation in different forums and have good knowledge and communication skills to manage KOLs

Major Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and delivering differentiated scientific value proposition for OTC products in partnership with marketing function.
  • Be the owner of Scientific information and activities in the respective regions
  • Stakeholder management both internally and externally
  • Gathering insights from the Healthcare Providers (especially Key Opinion Leaders) about patient journey, challenges etc. and utilizing them to strengthen product strategy & activity plans.
  • Identifying, mapping, and profiling scientific leaders (HCPs), establishing networks with them and engaging them in appropriate platforms.
  • Responsible for identifying and segmenting KOLs in various therapy areas in terms of specialty, experience and academic interest in the respective regions
  • Guide and develop team members for effective delivery
  • Provide scientific inputs and, timely and value-added responses to medical queries from medical profession, consumer groups, and field force.
  • Responsible for medical information services (MIS). Responsibilities include supporting sales force in providing information to latest developments in medical research, current recommendations on Standard of Care across  areas.

Medical training of fieldforce

  • Continuously update medical/ product knowledge of field force and new recruit training in the region in coordination with the training and marketing team by devising and utilizing innovative methods of medical training. Work very closely with the Training Manager to devise innovative methods of trainings/refreshers.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Minimum Skill, Education, Experience

  • University degree and MD or PhD in science e.g., Chemistry, Medicine, Molecular Biology or equivalent.
  • 5 – 8 years’ experience is required.
  • Experience in Medico marketing with reputed OTC company/nutrition company

Accountability / Scope:

The position is accountable for the scientific strategy/direction of the affiliate including advocacy & product commercialization (product performance, customer communications, and scientific marketing).
