Job Description
Medical Science Liaison The headquarter Medical Science Liaison (MSL) role for Siemens Healthineers Diagnostics is focused on the development of strategies and execution of medical information dissemination towards successful adoption and implementation of new products and new concepts in the use of diagnostics in clinical practice, while initiating and maintaining peer-to-peer relationships with key medical experts. The HQ MSL is a value-added resource and extension of Medical Affairs team serving as the principal interface between Siemens Healthineers global and the regions. They maintain a high level of domain expertise aligned with key business strategies and clinical knowledge to ensure credible communication of medical and scientific information and dialogue with thought leaders, healthcare providers, medical laboratory directors, and healthcare organizations. The MSL will work with the Medical Affairs team and other internal stakeholders, to execute the overall MSL strategy. Duties and responsibilities: Develop strategies to facilitate and develop the company’s relationship with the medical/scientific community, including physicians and medical centers, by communicating product-related information. Develop strategies to initiate and maintain peer-to-peer collaborations and relationships with key medical experts, clinical laboratory directors, and other relevant clinical scientists and investigators in defined clinical disease areas. Serve as medical affairs peer-to-peer resource to external disease experts and internal stakeholders aligned with key product areas to address. Address topics and communicate clinical insights on new data to the Siemens Healthineers Medical Affairs and to inform medical strategy for key clinical disease state areas. Support execution of key business needs for education, medical thought leadership, and clinical research studies towards evidence generation. Develop, monitor, and implement MSL medical resources to provide needs based, value-added support of the medical and scientific community in-line with company goals and strategic objectives. Identify opportunities for collaborations between the company and thought leaders and investigators. Strategically map, identify, profile and prioritize engagements in line with the Medical and Clinical Affairs plans and goals. Maintain accurate reporting and documentation of MSL activities. Education/Qualifications: · Medical or Board-certified PhD/PharmD degrees preferred. Other graduate health science degrees, or equivalent with strong proven experience in several defined clinical disease areas considered. Experience: or related roles in industry. Experience in the clinical disease areas of liver disease states, cardiometabolic, and neurology strongly preferred. Strong, relevant clinical disease or clinical laboratory experience (2 or more years' relevant experience), with extensive knowledge of diagnostics’ application to clinical practice, ideally with relevant publication history. Preferably candidates have well-established networks and active relationships with thought leaders in the medical community, medical directors and external professional, disease, and research organizations. Demonstrates outstanding knowledge of the MSL function, strategic medical planning and key medical expert engagement. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Energetically embraces responsibilities, demonstrates ability to achieve goals. Has strong initiative, and functions well as part of a cross-functional team. Exhibits excellent time management. Flexibility for interactions with international thought leaders. Demonstrated ability to work independently. Other: Remote position. Requires periodic travel to meetings with medical experts, team meetings, and other group meetings (will require some weekends) as travel restrictions are eased in line with Siemens Healthineers business travel policy. Approximate travel amount would be 40%.
