This role is for a field-based professional with scientific, clinical and therapeutic expertise. The MSL is responsible for providing medical and scientific support for AstraZeneca's marketed products, new indication and compounds in development.
This is done by:
- Developing relationships and engaging in scientific exchange with medical and scientific partners, including Healthcare Professionals and Managed Markets Customers.
- Identifying pre-clinical, clinical and post-marketing study investigators in alignment with Medical Affairs objectives; and provide impactful information that enhances the value and proper use of AZ products to internal partners.
- Responding to customer inquiries to provide focused and balanced clinical and scientific information that supports the appropriate use of or clinically differentiates AstraZeneca's products and services
Essential Requirements:
- Advanced Clinical/Science Degree required (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD, MSN, NP, PA, etc.). BSN with extensive clinical experience may be considered.
- At least 3 years of direct patient care experience
- Previous experience in the clinical management of respiratory disease (preferred experience in asthma and COPD)
- Excellent verbal skills
- Strong presentation skills including the ability to effectively communicate medical data/concepts
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel (percentage varies with geography)
- Must reside in the territory
- Ability to travel (50-70%) – percentage varies with geography
- This position may be filled at the Associate MSL, MSL or Sr MSL level depending upon experience.
Desirable Requirements:
- Previous pharmaceutical industry experience
- Experience in biologics
- Previous experience in field medical role
- Certified Asthma Educator
