Medical Science Liaison / Medical Project Manager (f/m/d) Cardiovascular, Renal & Metabolism
In this function you demonstrate scientific value by strategic partnering with in- and external stakeholders, by understanding and anticipating their needs and by translating these proactively into actions. You support the strategic planning and delivery of all medical affairs initiatives in a specific brand to support the local objectives while staying in close touch with customers (40-50% field time). Next to that you help the cross-functional team who is active in the Therapeutic Area to ensure that they optimally contribute to their specific task. You stimulate the team’s contribution to the clinical development and medical evidence generation & and build confidence for our products to inform clinical practice with a clear patient centric approach.
Your main tasks
Responsible (development and execution) for integrated medical affairs plan and associated budget
Strong customer focus with min. 40 - 50% field time
Proactively contribute medical & clinical expertise and insights to the brand strategy, for the successful launch (= prelaunch activities) and life cycle management (LCM) of new & growth products
Understand, anticipate, communicate and address data gaps and unmet needs of external stakeholders
Act as medical reviewer for activities and promotional materials in accordance with compliance guidelines
Collaborate closely with commercial, market access, regulatory, medical information, patient safety and clinical trials unit
Ensure scientific and medical accuracy of outgoing materials, research papers and other reports, and may have sign off authority
Develop and enhances professional relationships with HCPs/KEEs, professional societies and patient organisations.
Generate product related insights by regular peer to peer visits (40-50% time in field) and provides them to relevant internal partners
Organize and conducts medical education, scientific exchange and advisory board meetings
Define and delivers training on medical background of the product
Evaluate ESR-proposals as part of L-REG and supports conduction according to milestones set
Provide scientific and strategic input to the respective MSL activities. Can take up mentorship of MSL
Works closely with senior practitioners to develop the marketing direction of a brand in a local market
Ensure own scientific knowledge of best practices and new relevant developments are up to date
Your Profile
University degree in natural sciences, medicine, pharmacy or dentistry
Professional experience of working in the pharmaceutical industry, preferentially as Medical Science Liaison or similar roles within Medical Affairs; experience within Clinical research will also be considered
Good understanding of the therapy area and experience in developing and executing of medical affairs plans
Thorough knowledge of the local regulatory and market access requirements related to medical affairs activities.
Comprehensive knowledge of the legal and ethical framework and the procedural guidelines that apply to the promotion and approval of medicinal products in Austria (Pharmacodex, Compliance)
Quick self-learner, ability and willingness to work in a team and independently
Communicative competence and presentation skills
Fluent in German (speaking and written)
Very good command of written and spoken English
High-level of scientific knowledge and ability to analyze and process clinical and scientific data
Experience in liaising with healthcare professionals
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including communicating complex technical, scientific, or medical information to broad audience types
Driving license, and willingness to drive within whole Austria
