The GSCO organization focuses on developing and executing sourcing strategies which provide Intel with a competitive advantage by maintaining appropriate tension and balance between cost, quality, availability, technology, and sustainability.
The Memory Strategic Sourcing (MSS) team within GSCO is responsible for managing the supply chain enablement for DRAM, SSD/NAND and various in-package custom memory solutions for both our Intel assembly package roadmaps along with those of our business unit partners leveraging external contract manufacturers to support client and data center market segments. This team manages a broad supplier ecosystem including all of the major Tier 1 memory providers.
As the Memory Sourcing Engineer, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Act as the memory/storage technical moderator/advisor in the team on memory technology, test, design/architecture, manufacturing (Silicon and assembly), and supply chain ecosystem.
- Work closely with memory enabling, package development, and Business units in future technology definition and requirements for memory and storage in Intel client, mobile, and server products.
- Define the technical requirements for supplier selection. Lead supplier engagements to ensure suppliers' manufacturing processes, test methods, and systems meet Intel's quality, reliability, cost, yield and manufacturability requirements.
- Collaborate with commodity teams in driving overall supply chain readiness (cost, quality, availability, technology, environmental and social governance) through the product life cycle from path-finding to high volume manufacturing.
- Identifies cost reduction opportunities through value engineering, design for cost, or alternative supply chain solution.
- Develop solutions to a wide range of complex memory supply chain problems utilizing formal education, statistical knowledge and problem solving tools.
- Manage projects effectively with periodic review with stakeholders.
- Requires experience and thorough knowledge in Intel business practices and procedures.
- This role requires the successful candidate to travel to Intel and supplier sites (domestic and international).

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- The candidate must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in (EE, CS, Material engineering, Chemical engineering, Physics) or a related field of study.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in Memory and Storage Technology (product design, Fab, assembly, test, quality, performance, product roadmaps, etc.).
- This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct experience in-memory technology selection and/or qualification for client, mobile, or server platforms is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in the memory supply chain will be a plus.
- Understanding of JEDEC specifications for various memory types
- Expertise in-memory technology and supply chain trends
- Experience working with memory vendors to drive supplier collaboration and help ally Intel and supplier stakeholders
- Knowledge of Quality Systems in the semiconductor industry

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
