Accountabilities:

• Source and develop new products and vendors. Ensure all requirements of the brief are met.
• Negotiate lowest possible cost prices, aiming to achieving significant landed cost savings.
• Negotiate cost price reductions on existing ranged & repeat items
• Negotiate the most favorable buying terms.
• Maintain up-to-date awareness of customer market trends。
• Plan and prepare buying trips, ensure relevant samples and quotations are prepared in advance.
• Ensure all quote sheet data is accurate and completed before submission.
• Manage all orders placed, checking product samples, quotes, artwork and packaging to ensure that customer requirements are met
• Regularly follow up and track all sourcing projects to ensure they are delivered to the required quality level, on-time and in full.
• Ensure all issues are identified and addressed to minimize impact. Escalate where appropriate to ensure swift resolution.
• Throughout each project, work closely with QA and Supply Chain to ensure effective delivery.
• Provide full guidance, coaching and support to Assistant Merchandisers.
• Report Weekly Project Logs to ensure the Management team are fully aware of the progress and issues associated with each projects.
• Contribute as required to business planning and budgeting process.

Requirements:

• At least 4 to 5 years Merchandising experience in the DIY industry, with experience in garden products like Garden furniture, BBQ, garden tools, garden sundries, Christmas.
• Excellent communication skills and negotiation skills
• Good PC skills such as MS words, excel, PowerPoint
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Self motivated, hard working, well organized, logical and analytical.
• Outgoing with good communication skills. Eager to learn and motivated by successful delivery.
