POSITION DESCRIPTION


Position : Merchandiser Department Name : CTC Triangle (Shanghai) Trading Co., Ltd.

Reports to (Title) : Merchandise Manager

POSITION SUMMARY


Merchandisers are the Category Specialists; Responsible for sourcing quality merchandise from appropriate vendors for assigned categories in supporting CTC Global Souring strategy and objectives.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Understand, support, integrate & reinforce CTC Global Sourcing strategy and objectives. Vendor recruitment as the key priority to identify appropriate products & vendors to present to the Buyer / Category Business Managers (CBM) for assigned categories. Extend current vendor matrix document to include global suppliers. Provide sourcing expertise on vendor landscape, product knowledge as well as market intelligence for given categories. Support and execute corporate policies, processes and programs. Assist Buyer / Category Business Managers (CBM) to negotiate best costs, resolve issues and share supplier’s market information. Track for orders and samples, ensuring timely receipt to deadline date. Follow up on status of any samples not received from supplier. Enters and updates product and sample information within PLM system. Assists in reviewing development timelines to support production schedules to meet delivery deadlines. Contacts suppliers to obtain order status and tracking information. Maintains purchase order records with updates for cost, delivery, etc. Work with the Buyer / Category Business Managers (CBM) on their trip to:- o Arrange meetings between Buyer / Category Business Managers (CBM) & vendors o Arrange hotel & transportation. o Collect samples & quotes prior to trip o Prepare trip reports o Assist Buyer / Category Business Managers (CBM) at vendor meetings o Assist Buyer / Category Business Managers (CBM) during finalization · Follow up and execute per trip decisions. · Communicate, explain & implement CTC’s business requirements to vendors. · Assist vendors in improving their performance through support in QA, market knowledge, customer understanding & CTC strategy. · Collaborate with X-functional teams, i.e. PQA (Product Quality Assurance) on quality and SCOA (Supply Chain Operations, Asia) on supply chain to support Buyer / Category Business Managers (CBM) and assist vendors for issues and future improvement. · Vendor management – align with Buyer’s / Category Business Manager’s (CBM) direction and growth opportunity to develop vendors to become CTC’s key partner. · Review opportunities/sources globally. · Report and regularly update the Merchandise Manager on business/vendor developments. · Engage, support, coach and develop of Assistant Merchandiser.

QUALIFICIATION REQUIREMENTS


The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:- University degree Minimum of 3-5 years of sourcing or merchandise management experience in apparel and/or footwear. Ability to complete tasks in an efficient & effective manner Strong negotiation skills Attention to details Strong & creative problem solver Action & results oriented Good team work spirit Interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization Good oral and written skills in both Mandarin & English Able to travel extensively
