Key Responsibilities:
Pre-season
? Provideup-to-date consumer insights, hindsight, competitor positioning, product trendintelligence to inform GC MP&A team and GC Operations team. Identify marketcategory opportunities/risks by season
? Developindividual category merchandising strategy to drive the business
? Regularly spendtime in stores understanding customer and team feedback on product, price andvisual wins or opportunities
? Patterningconsumer preferences on sizing, color, styles etc.
? Work withMP&A, Finance and other merchants to manage merchandize investment plan andmargin
In season
? Create strategyto track seasonal marketing campaigns, analyze campaign matrix to identifyperformance against buy. Recap product performance whether it hits/misses plan,provide suggestion on promo/visual/marketing.
? China regionalmarket research - trend, consumer, competitors, pricing.
? Work on specificmarket research for certain category, product and project.
? Supportdevelopment of sales plans, Open to buys, and sell down strategies incollaboration with Columbus home office.
? Work with GC teamdetermine actions to drive immediate sales based on local assortment, inventoryand promotional challenges & flexibility
? Partner withMP&A to resolve any product related issues linked to quality, AIC inspections,or other China specific challenges.
? Manage productupdates, reports and analysis at weekly, monthly, etc team briefings asdetermined by the Regional MD.
? Partnering withmarketing and planning on promotions and SAS strategy
? Recommendwork-around and manage testing failure fallouts and partner with marketing andvisual on how to handle what is not coming to the market
? Work with Brandto manage GWPs
Cross-functional
? Communicate Chinacustomer needs and assortment feedback/opportunities to cross-functional teamand VSI
? Act as a liaisonbetween MP&A, Operations, Marketing, & Visual. Brief marketing team onseasonal big ideas/concepts and China key investment to optimize the marketingplan. Assist visual team to create seasonal visual directive that aligns withChina assortment strategies
Experience and Skills:
? Universitygraduate in fashion related disciplines
? With atleast 7-10 years’ merchandising experience in retail and fashion industry inChina
? Able to makeclear merchandising decisions driven by business strategy
? Strong feelfor product, merchandize selection, and fashion sensibility
? Stronganalytical and numerical capabilities
? Be able towork under pressure in a fast-paced, constantly evolving work environment
? Excellentcommand of English and Mandarin
? Strong andclear communicator
? Experienceworking in a multinational matrixed environment
