Major responsibilities include

• Development and maintenance and of the Supply and Demand balance sheets in view of company reports, proprietary research and analysis, commercial data points and trade flow data.

• Development consumption models for various downstream markets in view of relevant macro and micro economic data points as well as modeling of evolving metals intensity of demand.

• Populate and contribute to the development of an in-house IT system to capture supply and demand fundamentals.

• Maintenance of deliverable and tenderable parity time series

• Collation and modeling of time series on costs and returns across the value chain.

• Maintenance and development of analyses relating suitably defined economic return time series to stock / use time series

• Continuous communication with analysts and traders on the evolution of fundamentals and associated risks.

• Present analyses at senior levels both internally and externally

• Develop trade flow balance sheets to develop view on the outlook for regional premium spreads

• Develop an on the ground information network

• MS Office; advanced knowledge of VBA, PowerPivot and Access

• Skills in data management and automation techniques (report mining)

• Programming languages like SQL, Python, R, C++, or Matlab beneficial

• Fluent English; other languages (e.g. Russian, Spanish, French, Korean, etc. ) advantageous

• Good understanding of value chains for base metals and of metallurgy beneficial.
  

Experience

Minimum two years’ of experience in metals & mining markets in an analytical environment

Preferably some exposure to delivery markets and physical trading

Education

University degree – preferably in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Econometrics, Accounting or Computing
