About the job

Google's projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus. As a Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating goals to project stakeholders. Your projects often span offices, time zones and hemispheres, and it's your job to keep all the players coordinated on the project's progress and deadlines.

We’re the Product Lifecycle and Technical Operations (PLaTO) team within Supply Chain. We’re responsible for product lifecycle, quality, materials, product data, BOMs, and engineering operations for NPI and sustaining products for servers, storage, accelerators, and networking equipment used in Google’s data centers. In this role you will work across all functions within Global Capacity Delivery (GCD) and with our partner teams (including Finance, UFO, Platforms, and others) to drive process and tool improvements. Specific programs include driving a PLaTO-wide OKR and metrics program and a PLaTO-wide resource and headcount planning program.

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

Responsibilities

  • Work with functional owners of metrics around PLaTO to identify improvement needs in our OKR and metrics management processes, develop and standardize metrics and their definitions, and driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Coordinate and manage weekly/monthly OKR/metrics reviews including structuring the sessions, tracking actions and driving decisions to closure.
  • Work with key stakeholders across PLaTO and GCD where necessary including Supply Planning, Logistics, Commodity Management, Quality, and Contract Manufacturing teams to define and refine driver-based models for headcount and resources to support GCD activities.
  • Track and communicate progress and impact/outcomes to key stakeholders, PLaTO leadership, and the PLaTO organization at large.
  • Manage additional programs, including key projects with GCD wide impact or representing PLaTO in GCD wide projects.
