How will you make an impact?
The Metrology Technician II is the technical advisor on I&C equipment purchases, specifications and operation. They coordinate the installation of new I&C and laboratory purchased equipment. They ensure that the required utility system is in place for equipment. They are responsible for the scheduling of preventative, corrective and emergency maintenance work order.

What will you do?
• The incumbent performs scheduled calibrations, unscheduled corrective calibrations, and repairs of industrial instrumentation.
• Daily calibration and maintenance of equipment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assigning daily tasks, inspecting work performed, reviewing documentation of work completed, developing training matrices and training of staff. Coordinate and schedule work with outside contractors when required.
• The incumbent will perform routine calibrations of complex laboratory and/or production equipment following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). This includes proper documentation of work performed, evaluation of out of tolerance results, oversight of vendor performed calibrations, and coordination of services.
• The incumbent will train technicians, assist in the development/execution of equipment calibration activities, and develop equipment calibration procedures, work instructions and templates.
• Oversee the service contractors who perform calibrations, and participate in qualifications, delivery and installation of new equipment.
• Write, revise and review applicable equipment Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), calibration work instructions, investigations and change controls. This includes evaluation of compliance to NIST / USP / ISO Calibration requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned. Maintain proper organization of the Metrology laboratory and equipment. Re-stock materials as needed. All work must be performed following written procedures and work must be documented concurrently, including equipment and material used. Assist other departments as needed.

How will you get here?
Education
• BS – Engineering or related field – preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

Experience
• 4+ years of appropriate calibration experience in a laboratory/production facility – required.
• Advanced ability to troubleshoot repair, align and optimize precision equipment - preferred.
• Experience selecting instrumentation, determining calibration range, tolerance, and frequency - preferred.
• Performing calibration investigations - required.
• Knowledge of Quality Management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 17025 and ANSI Z540) – required.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, electrical schematics and procedure manuals.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to communicate in a high-pressure environment.
• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds with or without assistance
• Ability to aseptically gown and/or sterile gown as needed and to work within process clean rooms
