Solutions, inclusive of Eagle Investment Systems LLC, a global leading provider
of financial services technology (a fintech company) is seeking a Lead
Financial Accounting Manager for its fast-growing company. This position is based in West Hartford,
CT. The Lead Financial Accounting Manager
will report directly to the Controller and will work closely with senior
leaders throughout the organization.
This role will assume ownership of the monthly SOX compliance process and own/oversee the monthly financial processes with a key focus on controls. The role will make a huge impact to the business by assisting in performing the controls on a monthly basis and working with internal and external audit throughout the year with control testing and substantive testing requirements. This role will also play an integral role on the Finance and Accounting team by supporting the month-end close, forecasting/budgeting, invoicing and account reconciliation.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and FASB pronouncements including a working knowledge of software revenue recognition and multiple element arrangements. Responsibilities
· Support the month/quarter/year-end close by reviewing and analyzing schedules and maintaining workflow processes to ensure accurate recordkeeping and financial reporting.
· Review monthly revenue schedules and approve invoices to ensure proper revenue recognition.
· Support the annual planning and monthly forecasting cycles.
· Prepare quarterly geographic revenue packages.
· Coordinate and respond to all audit-related requests. Maintain strong working relationships between internal audit, external audit, SOX audit, process owners, and executive management throughout the audit process and ensure compliance.
· Own the monthly SOX packages. Develop processes to ensure compliance with all SOX requirements and identify opportunities for process improvements to increase effectiveness and/or gain efficiencies
· Support the team as a Subject Matter Expert on SOX and internal audit guidelines. Remain current with changes in regulations to ensure timely compliance with SOX 404 to include internal control updates/changes as needed/required.
· Stay current on accounting literature updates and be knowledgeable of software revenue recognition (ASC606).
Manages and leads a small team of professionals responsible for the production and reporting of analytics and conducting special projects that support business operations. Establishes tactical relationships with internal teams to partner, develop a comprehensive approach to the analytics, metrics, and reports that will support their decision making needs. Manages the established, regular reporting and analytical cycle for assigned team. Fields ad-hoc requests and allocates and deploys resources as needed. Guides team on projects and provides technical instruction on methods and approach for standard operating procedures. Manages special projects supporting functional or business initiatives. Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contributions, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team and to maintain standard operating procedures, policies and guidelines for the teams. Manages a small team of professionals;; management responsibilities include coaching, performance management and resource allocation. May manage financial resources (e.g., budgets, expenses, etc.) Contributes to the achievement of team objectives.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. 3-5years of total work experience and at least 0-1 years of management/supervisory experience preferred.
