Middle School English Language Teacher
Luoyang No. 2 Foreign Language School (to start February 2018)
25 x 45 minute classes per week

1 year contract:
14000-15000RMB
Plus on-campus accommodation
Plus return flights

1 month Chinese New Year vacation paid in full
2 month summer holiday at half-pay.
1,000 RMB bonus payable on teacher’s Day.
Extra paid work available if requested

Maximum class size is 27 students, aged 12 – 16 years old

Our school is in the new town of the city and is about 10 minutes’ biking riding to a big mall and about 30 minutes’ ride to downtown of the old town

Teacher must be a native English speaker eligible for a Z-Visa in China

2 years teaching experience preferable but not required. Internationally recognized TEFL, CELTA or TESOL is preferable.

Responsibilities:
Utilizing creative interactive speaking and listening activities that engage students.
Classroom management.
Developing lesson plans and adapting to students’ English ability.
No office hours required
Teacher is expected to work at 2 campuses of No. 7 MIddle/High School (travel expenses reimbursed)

Zhengzhou is a large city with a good, close-knit foreign population. It is very central and convenient for traveling around China (3 hours to Beijing, 2 hours to Xian, 30 minutes to Shaolin Temple and Luoyang’s Longmen Grottoes by high-speed train). THe Middle and High Schools are both located in the city. The cost of livng is low in comparison with Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou. Getting around and eating are inexpensive as are most other services.

This is a good position for less experienced candidates or recent university graduates. Airport pick-up and orientation upon arrival. During the contract term, you will be assisted with common problems (paying bills, shopping, going to the doctor, translation, etc). Assistance in finding an apartment can be arranged if required.

Work permit and health insurance are provided in accordance with all provincial regulations. (Candidates must be from a country where English is officially recognized first language)
