About this School: We are a co-ed K-12 day and boarding school
School History
 Our National Division started in 2017/2018, and now has around 1300 students.
 The school moved into a new purpose-built campus in September 2018.
 The school started a bilingual curriculum class in 2020/2021
 We also have an International Kindergarten which currently has around 100 students.  The cities where we currently have schools are, Su Qian, Jia Xing, and Jin Zhou.
 Our school group has 30 national schools across China.
Calendar:
 The school follows a typical National School Calendar
 Holidays are paid and as per the school calendar and government regulations o National Week (typically 7 to 10 days TBC)
o Mid-autumn Festival (typically 3 days TBC) o Ching Ming Festival (typically 3 days TBC) o Dragon Boat Festival (typically 3 days TBC)
o Labour Day (typically 5 days TBC)
o Western New Year’s Day (1 day)
o Winter Break (typically 3 weeks TBC)
o Summer Holiday (typically 6 weeks TBC)
Teaching Load
Teachers will be expected to
 Teach up to 24, 40-minute lessons per week, plus one
After School Activity
 Submit unit and lesson plans
 Keep office hours (8:00 am to 5:00 pm)
 An hour for lunch (time depends on your class schedule)  Attend staff meetings and other meetings as required
 Participate in school events such as Opening Ceremonies,
Flag Raising, Sports Day, and concerts etc.
 Do occasional demo lessons
ESL Teachers
ESL teachers will:
 Be expected to teach different grade levels
depending on student enrollment. Every effort will
be made to minimize the different levels.
 Expected to liaise with the class English teacher to determine the best teaching approach and content
Teaching Resources
 Each teacher is provided a school laptop
 There are printers in each school office
 Each class has a projector and a smart board
Living in the City
Daily living costs in Suqian are low compared to other cities, and you have many choices for
shopping, entertainment and eating out. There is also an active foreigner group who have regular
social activities.
Housing
 The school provides fully furnished, clean and modern housing
 The housing estate is around 10 minutes by bus from the school, and 30 minutes to down town.
 There are restaurants and supermarkets outside the housing estate, and more within 20 minutes’ walk.
Utilities
 The school will reimburse the utilities, for each apartment, including internet up to 500
RMB per month. (note that the difference is not given in cash)
Meals
 Chinese meals are provided in the school cafeteria
 There is a good variety of restaurants, with choices of local Chinese, other Asian, and
western restaurants.
School Bus
 If a teacher lives on the school bus route, they can catch the school bus to school
 The public bus fare from where most of the teachers live is 1 RMB
