Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Middle School STEM Teacher to deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences across Grades 6–8. This role integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics through inquiry-based and project-driven approaches, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and real-world problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
Plan and deliver dynamic STEM lessons that integrate multiple disciplines through authentic, real-world contexts.
Use inquiry-based, project-based, and design-thinking methodologies to engage students in active learning.
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, abilities, and interests within the classroom.
Incorporate appropriate technologies, lab equipment, and makerspace tools to enhance learning experiences.
Curriculum Implementation
Implement the school’s STEM curriculum, ensuring alignment with interdisciplinary learning goals.
Contribute to the development and refinement of unit plans, scope and sequences, and learning resources.
Collaborate with subject colleagues (science, maths, design, ICT) to strengthen cross-curricular connections.
Assessment & Feedback
Design varied formative and summative assessments that measure both knowledge and transferable skills.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth and reflection.
Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate effectively with parents.
Classroom Environment
Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that encourages curiosity and risk-taking.
Establish clear expectations for behaviour and foster a collaborative classroom culture.
Manage resources, materials, and equipment effectively and responsibly.
Professional Contribution
Actively participate in collaborative planning, professional learning communities, and school events.
Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with STEM pedagogy and innovations.
Supervise student projects, clubs, or competitions (e.g., robotics, science fairs, coding challenges) as required.
Requirements
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field (science, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or equivalent).
Valid teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, teaching license, or equivalent) preferred.
Minimum 3 years of middle school teaching experience in STEM or related subjects.
Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
