Position Overview:

We are seeking a visionary and accomplished Middle School Science Coordinator to lead our prestigious Science department. The successful candidate will be a pedagogical leader, responsible for driving excellence, innovation, and coherence across the Middle School science curriculum (including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics). This role requires a blend of deep scientific knowledge, outstanding teaching practice, and the ability to inspire both students and faculty.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Curriculum:

Provide dynamic leadership and direction for the Middle School Science department.

Develop, review, and enhance a rigorous, engaging, and forward-thinking science curriculum that aligns with the school's mission and high academic standards.

Promote and embed inquiry-based learning, scientific literacy, and critical thinking skills across all grade levels.

Teaching & Learning:

Teach a reduced load of science classes, modeling exemplary teaching practices.

Coach, mentor, and support science teachers in their professional growth, including conducting lesson observations and facilitating professional development sessions.

Lead the department in the effective use of data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes.

Management & Operations:

Oversee the department's budget, resource allocation, and the management of science laboratories and equipment, ensuring a safe and state-of-the-art learning environment.

Chair regular departmental meetings to foster collaboration and ensure operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education: Master’s degree or higher in a Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) or Science Education is strongly preferred.

Certification: A mandatory and valid teaching qualification from an English-speaking country: PGCE, QTS, U.S. state license, or equivalent national teaching credential.

Experience: A proven, successful science teaching experience in a secondary/middle school setting, with at least 2-3 years in a formal leadership role (e.g., Department Head, Curriculum Coordinator, Team Leader).

Background: Deep knowledge of modern science pedagogy and curriculum development, preferably within an international context.

Language: Native or Proficient English language skills are required.
