Position: Middle School Science Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Middle School Science Teacher to inspire and educate students in grades 6-8. The ideal candidate will foster a love for science through engaging, hands-on lessons that align with state and national standards. The teacher will create a dynamic classroom environment that encourages critical thinking, inquiry-based learning, and real-world applications of scientific concepts.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver engaging, standards-based science lessons (Life Science, Earth Science, Physical Science, etc.).
Use a variety of teaching methods (labs, demonstrations, projects, technology) to accommodate diverse learning styles.
Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, providing constructive feedback.
Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that promotes student participation and collaboration.
Integrate STEM/STEAM principles and real-world problem-solving into the curriculum.
Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering respect and responsibility.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and classroom activities.
Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance cross-curricular learning opportunities.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Certification: Valid state teaching license/certification in Science (grades 6-8 or relevant range).
Experience: Prior middle school teaching experience preferred; new graduates with strong field experience may apply.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of middle school science standards (NGSS or state-specific).
Proficiency with technology (Google Classroom, lab equipment, interactive whiteboards, etc.).
Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
Passion for fostering curiosity and scientific literacy in young learners.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with inquiry-based learning, project-based learning (PBL), or STEM/STEAM programs.
Coaching or advising extracurricular activities (e.g., Science Olympiad, Robotics Club).
Bilingual or ESL certification (if applicable to the student population).
