MYP Middle School Homeroom Teacher (G6-G9, Main Teaching Subject: English Language)

1.Job Description
Prepare and deliver lessons for classes of different ages and abilities, and prepare students for external examinations;
Mark work, provide appropriate feedback, maintain records of pupils' progress and development, and complete students’ learning assessment;
Research new topic areas to maintain up-to-date subject knowledge, devise and write new curriculum materials, and participate in lesson preparation & collaborative planning as well as classroom decoration;
Manage pupil behaviour in the classroom and on school premises, and apply appropriate measures in cases of misbehaviour;
Undertake pastoral duties (as homeroom teacher) and support pupils individually with academic or personal difficulties;
Communicate with parents/carers about pupils' progress, and participate in departmental meetings, parents' evenings and whole-school training events;
Organize/participate in extracurricular activities (elective programmes, outings, social/cultural/sporting events, etc.) and supervise students during night study;
Undergo regular observations and participate in in-service training (for CPD), external accreditation exercises and school assembly programs;
Contribute expertise in a committee and participate in weekend student recruitment (at least 1 Saturday/Sunday per month, no more than 8 weekends a year);
Fulfill other daily tasks assigned by the school.
2.Qualification
(1）Bachelor’s Degree or above
(2）Preferred Experience & Qualification
Over 2 years of relevant teaching experience with homeroom teacher background;
Postgraduate Degree in Education or related teaching subject, plus teaching license recognized by the home country’s education ministry;
Familiar with IB MYP transdisciplinary approach to inquiry and having attended IB/Cambridge teacher workshops;
Hold English language teaching certifications from credible awarding bodies, and understand various language assessment tools (e.g., MAPS / Raz-kids / Cambridge YLE).
