Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services and Systems division is currently seeking a Mission Critical Project/Construction Manager to join our team. This position is geographically flexible within the contiguous United States. The primary function of the Project/Construction Manager is to be a flexible position that can operate as a project manager or a construction manager depending on workload. When operating as a project manager the responsibilities will focus on pre-sales functions. When this position is operating as a construction manager, the responsibilities shift to post-sales overseeing all trades and services in support of Mission Critical Turnkey projects on site. The construction manager will directly support and take direction from the project management team and can comprehend schedules, understands safety requirements, well versed understanding of construction requirements with a major focus on electrical code requirements, be able to manage project labor to complete project tasks on schedule while understanding cost/budgetary constraints. The Project Manager primary functions: Perform site survey’s evaluating current electrical and mechanical conditions and create a design to upgrade, replace, or install new electrical infrastructures from utility and generator inputs to a data room floor distribution base on customer requirements. Use of modern project management tools and techniques to design and execute projects related to the engineering, procurement, and construction of electrical power system modifications. Lead modernization projects related to electrical power generation, transmission, and distribution industry with specific focus on critical power systems. Deliver projects with a high degree of professionalism and safety, using his/her knowledge of industrial and utility power distribution equipment, power system engineering, critical power systems & construction safety. Have full responsibility for his/her assigned projects and authority to complete them from inception to scope development, planning, execution, management of people and resources. Have the discipline to create clear and achievable cost, quality, and schedule objectives and follow these objectives through to successful completion. Provide technical leadership to the district sales & service teams. Mission Critical / Data Center environments, manage and direct a team on awarded projects for electrical equipment, including working knowledge of electrical system design & installation. Equipment includes transformers, switchgear, switchboards, distribution systems, data floors, power distribution units, Uninterrupted Power Systems, motor control centers, generators, automatic transfer switches, rotating equipment, and AC drives. Manages & maintains all assigned projects, takes ownership and responsibility for meeting customer expectations according to all contract requirements. Prepares, submits, and manages change orders between customer and Eaton. Manages and communicates the scope of work & responsibilities between Eaton’s customers, Eaton’s employees, & Eaton’s suppliers / sub-contractors Establishes, and manages the project deliverables between Eaton, vendors & subcontractors, and the customer. Plans, establishes, maintains, and regularly updates a project schedule on assigned projects. Manages communication and distributes documentation between Eaton and its customers. Monitors, reports, and controls costs on assigned projects within bid project margin. Reports, forecasts, and presents project financial activity to Eaton’s management. Performs site surveys, develops electrical turnkey designs, execution of awarded projects, and completing all close out documentation and submissions. Responsible for creating, providing, and working with the support staff in developing all submittal documentation for projects, to include Design survey’s, SOW’s, drawing packages, Schedules, and other documentation required. Prepares, distributes, and follows through with project Safety Plans, MOP’s (Method of Procedures), ASI’s (Authorized Service Interruptions). Responsible for financial performance of project including profitability, project revenue, and cash flow The Construction Manager primary functions are: Manage site construction activities through issuing and working per construction schedule using MS project or Primavera. Support construction estimates and managing contractor change orders. Implement QA/QC, document control, construction safety programs. Safety oversight of site conditions, including all reporting responsibilities. Quality oversight of site construction versus approved design plans. Assist the project manager with subcontractor change order management, minimizing cost overages on projects. Accurately manage and report onsite construction deliverable status. Interpret design construction packages, NEC, and building codes. Preparation of Construction submittal packages such as MOP’s with the project manager. Assist with developing Accident Prevention Plans, QC Plans, Environmental Plans & Mobilization Plans. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Associate degree from an accredited Institution with minimum 2 years of construction/project management experience OR High school diploma with minimum 5 years of project/construction management Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. No relocation is offered. Candidates must reside within the contiguous United States to be considered. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited Institution with focus on project management, construction management, or engineering from an accredited Institution Military Service Data center construction experience Knowledge and experience with EM385 Army Corp of Engineer requirements. PMP Certification Minimum of 2 years of experience managing field service engineer/technician roles. Position Success Criteria: Strong focus on customer satisfaction. Strong ability to interface with a customer on installation related techniques and building codes. Strong computer skills, including well versed in MS Office Suite of tools. Strong knowledge of Eaton’s electrical product and service offerings/capabilities. Possess strong technical writing and presentation ability, organizational skills, documentation and communication skills, and have previously functioned as part of a team dynamic. Strong capabilities in breaking down project scope. Work remotely and engage appropriate team members for support. Capable of working on project sites for extended periods of time. Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver’s license. Ability to travel within the US and outside of the US without restrictions. Ability to gain access to military and government sites. The annual salary range for this role is $84,720 - $140,800 a year. The position is eligible for an annual performance-based incentive plan with a target at 13% of base salary.
