Our location in Plano, TX currently has an opportunity for a Software Engineer, Mobile. The  Software Engineer will participate in the design of new software products, testing and refactoring existing software subsystems and lead the deployment of software products on mobile devices. You will work with analysts and software architects to design, implement and test modern graphic user interfaces for medical devices.  

WHAT YOU'LL DO  

  • Participates in the design of new software products, evaluates requirements, participates in architecture; refactors existing software subsystems, performs systems testing and leads the deployment activities. 

  • Lead the design test framework (C#, Python Scripting) for automation (Ranorex, Appium) testing and scripts to accurately assess new products or software updates or operating system updates according to customer requirements. 

  • Troubleshoots and fixes software defects 

  • Develops, executes and documents unit and integration test cases 

  • Reviews software development deliverables, including code and documentation 

  • Holds and participates in software inspections 

  • Maintains software deliverables within the change management system 

  • Identify, analyze and create detailed records of problems that appear during testing, such as software defects, bugs, functionality issues, and output errors, and work directly with software developers to find solutions and develop retesting procedures. 

  • Works with analysts to design and implement modern graphical user interfaces for medical devices 

  • Participates in quality and process improvement initiatives. Leverages and practices software development industry best practices 

  • Contributes to the issuance of patents for inventions 

  • Work is performed under specific direction with minimum supervision.  

  • Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING  

 Required 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or another technical discipline relevant for the healthcare IT industry or equivalent experience

  • 3+ years experience in mobile software development preferably in the medical device industry or other highly regulated industry. 

  • Experience in formal software development methodologies.  

  • Experience in test automation for mobile device testing and debuggers, and emulators. 

  • Knowledge of the C# programming language and iOS and Android OS. 

  • Experience in object-oriented analysis, design and implementation 

  • Experience developing software that includes networking, and communication protocols 

  • Experience with multi-threaded concurrency issues, failure mode analysis, and performance optimization 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal. 

 

Preferred  

  • Masters Degree in technical field

  • Knowledge of standards (IEC, IEEE, etc.), regulations (CFR 21, etc.), guidance, and best practices applicable to software engineering and medical devices 

  • Familiarity with modern development life cycle models. 

  • Knowledge of software design patterns and standard modeling languages such as UML. 

  • Experience in test automation for mobile device cloud testing. 

  • Familiar with MDM, AirWatch, SDLC, SDTC

  • Understanding of fundamental electronics principles
