Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with strong technical background and data experience to join the Vegetable R&D Analytics and Pipeline Design team as a Molecular and Lab Workflow Lead, with a focus on Operations and Deployment in Chesterfield, Missouri. This role will lead the current logistical IT pipeline and data operations for enterprise and local IT Vegetable R&D genotyping and phenotyping workflows, including business workflow adoption and process improvement. This involves collaborating with a diverse group of global cross-functional lab scientists, breeders, and IT teams.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, Molecular & Lab Workflow Lead, are to: 

 

  • Design and drive the lab and molecular digital operations in collaboration with key Vegetable R&D Stakeholders, Vegetable IT
    Strategy and Row-Crop partners;
  • Operate a global digital pipeline supporting regional and local site labs; continuing to drive process improvement;
  • Drive the data, IT workflows and KPIs for the phenotypic, genotypic and material production lab workflows;
  • Enable data driven decisions driving the best vegetable product advancement through management of data workflows and the digital portfolio;
  • Develop digital deployment plans including user-acceptance-testing, final development, launch, adoption and maintenance;
  • Drive proactive, timely and consistent messaging for coordinated global digital deployments across Vegetable R&D using standardized project and change management methods;
  • Lead end-to-end awareness of the best digital methodologies and technologies in all genotypic, phenotypic and material production lab workflows, enabling pipeline effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Ph.D. with a minimum of four years’ experience in Plant Breeding or related field;  OR
  • M.S. with a minimum of eight years’ experience in Plant Breeding or related field;  OR
  • B.S. with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Plant Breeding or related field;
  • Minimum of three years of leadership experience or ability to influence large groups with proven change management and results;
  • Ability to lead by Influence with future vision to enact change;
  • Subject matter expert in the lab with desired Breeding and/or Agronomic workflows experience;
  • Proven project management, change management and process improvement experience;
  • Ability to translates business process into seamless IT workflows;
  • Ability to lead and Drive change through connectedness and collaboration.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Successful participation in Agile design process for IT solutions;
  • Business project management experience;
  • Change management experience using a formal method such as PROCI – ADKAR;
  • Basic knowledge in one or more of the following languages: Dutch, Spanish, Italian, Hebrew, or French.
