Job Description
New Oriental, the Leading Provider of Private Education in China, is partnering with Monash University, one of the most distinguished Universities in Australia, to offer a one year foundation program to Chinese students wishing to study abroad. Courses offered include Academic English, Economics, Accounting, and mathematics.

The Monash University Foundation Year aims to empower young people with the capabilities and behaviors to be inquiring, life-long learners with an understanding of their own identity and respect for other people.

To this end the core integrative learning opportunities focus on developing the talents and capacities of students to be team players with strong interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills which will be required for their tertiary studies and career.

The philosophy of teaching and learning embraced by the Monash University Foundation Year is based on a:

• constructivist paradigm that is grounded in the individual needs of learners
• sound basis in cultural understanding
• strong connection between content and context.

This philosophy of teaching and learning for pathway students is concerned to make a worthwhile contribution to students’ well-being and learning outcomes by providing a foundation with a holistic perspective that will equip students for entry into university life and give students the capabilities, skills and understanding necessary to succeed in the 21st century.

Responsibilities:
-Use of Constructivist Teaching Paradigm
-Act as a facilitator providing the challenges students need for greater achievement
-Scaffold students' learning through being a 'more knowledgeable other' who provides the challenges students need for achieving more
-Foster students' development by collaboration, and an internalization of social experience
-Emphasize the process of learning rather than the end product

Job Details:
-City of employment: Beijing
-Language of Instruction: English
-Classes begin: July 21, 2014
-Teaching hours: Mon-Fri, 18 contact hours per week
-Curriculum: Highly developed curriculum provided by Monash University, Australia
-Age of students: 16-18
-Number of students per class: maximum of 25

Remuneration & Benefits:
-Salary: 18,000-25,000 rmb/month
-Contract: 1 year full-time contract
-Airfare: up to 10,000rmb airfare reimbursement
-Insurance: local basic health insurance
-Documents: Work permit, foreign expert certificate, and Z-visa sponsored and compensated for
-Opportunities: Career development opportunities with the largest provider of private education in China (NYSE: edu).

Desired Skills & Experience:
-Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (master's preferred) and two years teaching experience
-Familiarity with China and Chinese culture
-CELTA/TEFL/TESOL Certification preferred
-Experience in a Foundation or similar bridging program preferred (NCUK, GAC, AP, etc.)
-Must be capable of speaking English at a native level.
