The Motorrad Area Business Manager I, North Central is the primary role responsible for achieving all targets established by BMW Motorrad USA. The Area Business Manager will drive retail business through their assigned Area with the goal of driving targeted wholesale revenue for BMW NA through owning the active wholesale responsibility of all BMW Motorcycles, Parts/Accessories and Apparel sold to the dealer network. The incumbent will act as the liaison and advocate for the assigned dealer network. He/She will work collaboratively with each dealer to develop a growth strategy and plan the results in individual and market level growth which collectively results in attainment of company profitability and retail sales volume targets.

The Area Business Manager is responsible for establishing priorities to achieve all targets for the individual dealers in the Area. This includes conducting Area analysis and improvement recommendations as required to maximize Area potential. The incumbent will identify and define development needs for each dealer in the market using appropriate indicators, reports, and financial results. He/She will provide direction to dealership management in optimizing allocation potential.

The Area Business Manager will conduct monthly target setting meetings and monthly activation meetings to review and discuss the dealer's Volume Plan and the necessary plans to deliver the monthly volume target. The incumbent will implement the business plan for each assigned dealer to effectively achieve objectives for BMW motorcycle sales, wholesales, market share objectives. He/She is responsible for establishing sales and marketing plans for specific model/series opportunities that are relevant to the dealer. The incumbent will analyze dealership financial data to provide consultation to dealer principals and make recommendations based on the business plan toward improving overall operations and achieving objectives.

The Area Business Manager will partner with dealers to build marketing plans and ensure exposure to new media opportunities such as social media and digital campaigns. The incumbent will develop action plans for dealers who are not meeting market potential, financial projections and/or BMPR requirements in line with their business plan through analysis of market, sales and financial data in order to maximize market potential and dealer profitability.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or Marketing or equivalent retail/wholesale OEM experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: Sales, Aftersales, Distribution, Marketing, Business Management Experience, and Dealer Development.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute complex tasks and objectives in an independent work environment.
  • Working knowledge of multiple software, database and IT systems. 
  • Accommodate overnight travel and extended, non-traditional work hours.
