Based in Melbourne, this business development role forms part of our commercial team which supports multiple hotels, including the Mövenpick Hotel Melbourne and several hotels across Tasmania. With a primary focus on the Melbourne market and supporting the Mövenpick Hotel, this role will also provide support to the interstate team and provides a great opportunity for someone looking to progress their career and expand their knowledge of sales and marketing in a multi-hotel environment.
The ideal person for this role will be hungry for success, and love the challenge involved in winning business. You will have a proven track record of achievement in sales, preferably in the hospitality and/or tourism industry, and will impress us with your demonstrated ability to transform strong rapport with clients into solid business. Your sales flair will be complemented by strong time-management, reporting, computer and administrative skills.
What you will be doing:
Reporting to the Multi-Property Director of Commercial, your responsibilities will include:
- Identify and convert sales leads into new business opportunities, working collaboratively with the entire Sales & Marketing team
- Maintain a complete understanding of the Hotel’s sales visions, its products, services, and rate structure to fulfil business objectives
- Build, develop and maintain relationships with current customer base
- Maintain effective communication with the Director of Commercial, providing market intelligence on a regular basis and an understanding of competitor strengths, weaknesses and ongoing sales activities
- Plan, develop and implement promotional strategies and marketing plans
- Liaise with Accor National Sales team to ensure access to key accounts and maximise any sales opportunities
- Assist, implement and monitor sales strategies for conference and events
- Participate and represent Accor at key industry/trade events that will ensure an appropriate return on investment.
The must haves:
- Demonstrated sales experience in a hotel or related tourism industry
- Strong organisational, interpersonal, relationship management, influencing and negotiation skills
- Well developed time management and prioritising skills
- Understanding of digital marketing for the hotel industry and ability to take on occasional projects in this area
- Well presented with a confident, positive and approachable demeanour
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Sales & Marketing or Hospitality qualifications highly regarded
