NA Regional Industrial Engineering Manager

This role provides regional leadership to the continuous improvement (OPEX) agenda in the North America Region. Responsible for leading Sites (wet & dry) thru benchmark analysis and creation of plans to deliver the cost and efficiency roadmap to support the business goals. At the same time, this role provides functional and technical expertise in managing and measuring Site’s performance, establishing KPI, roadmaps and targets.

This role also acts as the FI Pillar Champion, owning the deployment of standard procedures and development of our Site associates. The incumbent must be able to dig deeper into performance related projects, activities, and processes. Must be able to coach our Operations Managers and Site Teams in performance related activities.

The role also provides insights and analytics to the entire Value Chain Operations Teams when requested, either to support Network strategies, both inbound and outbound, or any activity that may impact manufacturing performance.

What would your key responsibilities be?

• This role plays a role across the organization and influence the Region, the global forums and the Sites. From leading the Regional OPEX agenda, to the design and deployment of global processes and finally contributing with Site Teams to design successful plans and roadmaps to ensure the delivery of operating plan goals.
• Within the NA Region, this position will play the role of Regional OPEX champion with the overall responsibility to drive the regional priorities. This includes the design on connection points, the ability to coach Site Teams and finally summarize the performance for both technical and regional forums. This role owns the Regional Focus Improvement (FI) agenda with the Sites, establishing goals, metrics, project reviews and assessing the improvements and course correcting as needed. As the regional FI owner, this role needs to develop and own of the Do it Best (DiB) process in alignment with Global team and in partnership with S&F. This role needs to be able to lead cross-functional teams with the factories and other functions to support plants to drive and delivery the regional agenda. Needs to be able to play the role of Project Manager as needed.
• This role needs to be able to compare the Regional performance vs. other regions and business. Through benchmarking, develop operational targets for the plants based on internal and external best practice to ensure effective progress. This role needs to be able to share those benchmarks to the Sites and influence the Sites to make them theirs.
• This role needs to be able to develop business cases and recommendations for capital projects and the implementation of new technologies or upgrades. Very high degree of independency, remote management, influencing skills lateral as well as with senior management.
• Direct working relationship with five (5) manufacturing sites and in conjunction with the NA VCO leadership team and relevant functions such as Commercial, S&F, R&D, Q&FS, Engineering, and IE.
• Close collaboration and partnership with the RC Global Industrial Engineer team
• Ability to direct, coach and influence Site Industrial Engineering Managers, Triads and SEM Managers

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor’s degree preferable in Industrial Engineering or Business Management, Science, Engineer.
• 5-8 years of experience in production management; preferable line management experience
• Certified in Problem Solving Methodologies or similar, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt or actively working towards it is a strong positive
• Functional knowledge of factory operations with deep functional knowledge in Problem Solving Methodologies, Data Collection, and value stream mapping
• Working knowledge on Mars Supply Excellence (MSE) and Focused Improvement (FI) Pillar
• Ideally production/operations manager, Site Industrial Engineer or Continuous Improvement experience.
• Capable to work effectively with others in a remote environment and eager to engage with wide range of stakeholder community.
• Trained in and can demonstrate a variety of problem-solving skills.
• Ability to coach, influence and engage associates thru the implementation of new processes, procedures, and practices
• Understanding of site waste reports including Q&FS costs, variance and floor scrap
• Knowledge of (and a passion for) best in class Mars business processes and systems solutions
• Excellent, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to motivate and influence a broad, cross functional team
• 50-70% travel required
