NA Technical Manager - External Partnerships

Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The primary responsibilities of this role, North America (NA) Technical Manager – External partnerships, are to: 

 

  • Partner with NA Seed Growth third Party Agreement Manager and Seed Growth Portfolio Managers to develop portfolio options that provide differentiated seed treatment solutions for key partners in NA;
  • Be the technical expert on the Bayer Seed Growth Portfolio and pipeline and provide industry leading technical support to key partners in the area of seed growth;
  • Provide technical guidance to regional Technology Development Representatives for Seed Growth promotional work to be conducted with academics and other third-party research groups, ensuring alignment in marketing and portfolio management;
  • Manage administration and distribution of grant in aid and product samples;
  • Manage financial budgets for external expenditures of assigned projects;
  • Work with Market Development to request field trials within internal capacity and budget;
  • Manage product performance data for summaries, analysis, recommendations, storage and retrieval including preparation of final annual report summarizing test results and providing recommendations for future testing for assigned products;
  • Maintain active knowledge of industry trends and developments and provide input to guide early and mid-development programs through close working relationships with segment Seed Growth Technical Managers, Field Solutions and Regional Marketing peers.

 

This role can be located in St. Louis, MO or residence based within the U.S.

Domestic relocation assistance may be offered for this role.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor of Science with at least 15 years of experience in Agronomy, Field Development or other Research and development roles OR Master of Science with at least 13 years of experience in Agronomy, Field Development or other Research and development roles OR Ph.D. with at least 11 years of experience in Agronomy, Field Development or other Research and development roles;
  • Can design, conduct, and interpret complex scientific experiments, develop and implement research proposals, author scientific reports, and communicate findings;
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to use various software programs, including Microsoft Office;
  • An aptitude for data manipulation;
  • Strong communication, collaboration, influencing, business acumen and stakeholder management skills;
  • Leading/influencing key stakeholders.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Experience in Biologics and Seed Growth development;
  • Master of Science or Ph.D.;
  • Understanding of regional agronomic practices and farmer needs.
