Job Overview:
Responsible for project management and steering of Engineering Changes (EC) and new Product development (AEF)
- In this role, you work in a team, located in Charleston, SC, which focuses on planning and steering all Nafta related Product Updates and serial changes for Sprinter and Metris vans.
- As a Project Management Engineer in this team, you will establish and maintain working relationships with VAN/E Development Teams and Modulgroups, VAN/O Teams from European Plants as also MBUSA Sales and Product management in HQ.
- The focus of this role lies primarily in the project management and steering of planning, executing, and completing Product updates and Engineering changes and supporting the Production Team by implementing them within a set timeline
- You represent Mercedes-Benz model series development in a cross-functional project team regarding issues pertaining to all Nafta related Product and Production Topics and create a clear and transparent communication within affected departments
Responsibilities:
- Supporting development in steering, organizing and conducting NAFTA market specific project reviews and maturity assessment
- Track and coordinate change- and release-management with adjoining departments (logistic, engineering, production and quality)
- Coordinate with R&D departments and lead plants regarding feature roll out and release management with the scope on the local plant
- Support in a cross functional/cross divisional weekly round table meeting as a center of expertise for the Product and Change management for the Nafta Market
- Establish and maintain working relationships with Product & Upfitter Management and Aftersales Departments from MBUSA.
- Collaborate with Large Van and Mid size Van departments from HQ and VAN division in Germany.
- Establish, monitor and report all relevant KPI’s and timelines
- Supporting cross functional project members through giving full project transparency
- Steer and coordination of model year projects with adjoining departments
- Close contact with adjoining Product and Modul Group teams in Mercedes-Benz Vans HQ in Stuttgart, Germany
- Create reports and decision documents and report to high level management steering committees (Board of directors)
Description:
- As Nafta Project Manager, you will work in the EVS team as part of Model Series Management (consisting of local and Expat engineers)
- In your project team you will consolidate and steer all NAFTA specific Product and Engineering change activities
- You will deliver comprehensive management summaries of overall homologation activities, project time lines, vehicle planning, test schedules, deadlines and vehicle maturity reports
- You will report and present to top management in headquarters and locally within the US
- You will establish transparent communication channels, establish directions and demonstrated ability to build consensus between multiple stakeholders
- You will establish a process driven culture that embraces continuous improvement
- Position will require local and worldwide travel
