Our Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing Division is actively seeking a
 
NGS Research Sales Specialist

 
Position Summary: The Next Generation Sequencing Research Sales Specialist will be responsible for leading the NGS non-clinical Instrument and Consumable business in France North/West region in partnership with the Clinical Account Manager (CAM) organization to define and implement the most effective product and solution strategy for his territory. This individual will be responsible for the accelerated growth of the portfolio under his / her leadership. The revenue is about $ 5 M on the business.

The candidate must be a sales professional with strong communication and presentation skills, and the ability to drive sales in different business segments. This individual is responsible for implementing business strategies, forecasting, and providing marketing/competitive feedback and customer satisfaction relative to sales activities. This position will require an individual that is results oriented, highly motivated to succeed, operates with an extreme sense of urgency, has an excellent work ethic and maintains the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities
 

  • Develop and manage to a business plan to meet or exceed business goals agreed upon with Commercial management for the territory.
  • Ownership for driving Ion Torrent KOL (Key Opinion Leader) success, developing high level relationships with key opinion leaders, with the purpose of making these engagements successful as positive Ion references in the market.
  • Consistently and accurately manages sales process including sales forecasting, pipeline management, and sales tracking through the use of salesforce.com system and other designated IT tools.
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of next generation sequencing markets, products, and buying practices required to effectively compete in the assigned territory.
  • Utilize product and application to successfully conduct consultative and strategic selling presentations.
  • Understand customer goals, priorities and challenges such that company solutions are best positioned to address customer needs.
  • Manage expenses within guidelines; travel as necessary to meet revenue goals.
  • Interact with other departments as needed to communicate changes and provide updated information. The Next Gen Sequencing TSS will ensure tight alignment with the Business Unit and maintain a level of communication with the product teams focused on training needs, market feedback and product development input.
  • Participate in strategic market research.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
 
  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field; or the equivalent knowledge and experience. A Master’s or PhD degree is desirable.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years sales experience in Life Science preferred.
  • Strong understanding of molecular biology principles, methods and applications.
  • Extensive knowledge of NGS technologies
  • Strong experience in consumables sales.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Good telephone, interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Good written and oral communication skills are essential.
  • Strong presentation skills for both technical and sales related materials.
  • Flexible, adaptable and open to change.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel within region and internationally up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • A Master’s or PhD degree is desirable.

Knowledge of accounts in territory is preferred.
