Job Description
Job Summary Responsible to design, validate and implement manufacturing systems; including process, documentation, control and optimization through the life of the product. An NPI Engineer seeks and promotes the continuous improvement of the manufacturing processes on current and transfers businesses. Job Responsibilities Designs new manufacturing process or adapts/modifies existing ones to allocate requirements for NPIs, STPs or Cost Out projects. Participates on all NPI, STPs and Cost out projects discussion or planning meetings scheduled. Create, design, validate and implement manufacturing systems (assembly lines) including documentation (PFMEA, WIs, Control plan, flow chart, procedures) and establishes and implement process controls for NPIs, STPs and Cost Out projects Develops all manufacturing engineering APQP related documentations such as PFMEA, Control Plans, Poka-Yoke devices plan, Flow Diagram, MSA, Process Validation plans, etc Develop and implement tools as per new or revised requirements (standard tooling) and new design fixtures for assembly (fixtures, stencils, wave pallets) required for NPIs, STPs and Cost Out projects Establishes preventive maintenance program for new assembly systems or stations for NPIs, STPs and Cost Out projects. Actively promotes and executes plant level kaizen events to drive continuously improvement and drive short term and long term organization performance improvement for NPIs, STPs and Cost Out projects. Defines and implements ergonomic solutions on processes, equipment, machinery and work stations for NPIs, STPs and Cost Out projects Seeks and promotes the continuous improvement (Lean manufacturing system) and Industry 4. development with automotive mindset for NPIs, STPs and Cost Out projects. Introduces concepts like standardization or poka-yoke assemblies into new product designs as per DFT (Design for Manufacturability) rules for NPIs, STPs and Cost Out projects Calculates and define process routes to capture all steps, cycle times and activities required to manufacture any product for NPIs, STPs and Cost Out projects. To be loaded in SAP Transfer all new or modified manufacturing process, work stations or assembly lines for NPIs, STPs and Cost Out projects to the supporting manufacturing engineering team, including time studies, ergonomic analysis, product routes, maintenance plans and procedures, APQP documentation (PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Capability Studies) JSAs, HOEs and all manufacturing engineering documentation required to ensure the safe operation, quality (First Pas Yield) and capacity (cycle time) required to meet customer demand. EHS Responsibilities: Separate hazardous waste from the common waste. Place hazardous waste (gloves, rags, etc.) in assigned containers. Keep clean the work area contaminant free. Do not waste water. Report any activity that may jeopardize my safety and the environment. Identify and properly dispose all the chemicals that may contaminate the environment. Ensure the correct container for the disposal of hazardous waste (identified containers and containers to prevent spills). Report the entry of new Chemicals required for Maintenance purposes due to maintain a record updated and assure the compliance of the correct handling of them. Contain oil spills and repair as necessary. #LI-DS1 Qualifications Qualifications Education level required: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Electronics or Mechanics (or similar). Years and area of experience required: 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing and equipment areas and/or similar position 1-3 years of experience on building electronic products (SMT, assembly, wave solder, mechanical assembly, coating, magnetics and wire assembly, spot welding, encapsulated, packing and labeling, etc.). Technical knowledge: 2 years of experience solving QA issues, implementing process controls and process improvements Strong knowledge of J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC- WHMA-A-620, IPC-7711/21 soldering requirements, basic knowledge of TS16949 standard. Highly skilled on minitab, solid works, project, autocad, view mate and MFG Pro Management (preferred), strong knowledge of process for electronic products. Soft skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
