#### Position Description:


1.Works with development engineering teams to ensure manufacturability of new
design utilizing SMT DFx processes
2.Develops action plans to characterize & mitigate SMT related high risks due
to new component types, technologies, and materials.
3.Either independently or by leading a problem-solving team, identifies and
resolves quality, reliability, yield and cost problems.  Drives corrective
actions between owners in supply chain, development, suppliers, etc.
4.Defines and develops SMT process capabilities for new products – equipment,
padstacks, dispensing, repair methods, fixturing, etc.
5.Identify and participate in new SMT process and material development
projects.   Presents experiment results and proposals to development teams &
management
6.Interfaces with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers and/or customers.
Assists in developing and maintaining effective customer/vendor relationships.

#### Position Requirements:


General Skills

4\. Ability to apply statistical analysis tools – Cpk, GR&R, tests for
differences, DOE.
5\. Ability to operate within a fast-paced, interrupt-driven environment.

Specific Skills:
1.Understanding of surface mount technology, solder processes, and standard
SMT equipment such as screen print process, pick & place equipment, reflow,
and lead-free soldering, or equivalent.
2.Working knowledge or supplier processes for manufacturing of printed circuit
boards, typical SMT package construction, etc.
3.Working knowledge of CAD/CAM/Mentor/Valor design software tools
