Summarize the nature and level of work performed:

The Nursing service night supervisor is responsible to provide a key administrative, operational and clinical support role in the Jiahui Hospital.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Key area of responsibility, major job duties and key objectives for this position.

Liaison Role - Act as the central contact person to liaise with on-call doctors and admitting staff in facilitating admissions and/or transfer to critical care and general care within or outside of Jiahui units.

n Anticipate / proactively respond to capacity demands. Ensure that beds are managed and utilized appropriately during non-office hours.

n Provide overview of capacity to Nursing Services leadership. Establish and maintain consistent communication with Nursing Directors and other unit leadership on duty physicians and Sr. Administrator as needed.

n Feedback on the staff performance to the respective department head timely and objectively.

Resource Role – Facilitates access across all units

n Deploy staffing to respond to demand. Maximize resources utilization and efficiency to ensure adequate of resources to meet patient care requirement.

n Respond to requests for patient assessment and collaborate with unit based staff and physician coverage to determine appropriate clinical placement for patients experiencing change in clinical condition/acuity.

Patient Care Management –Services as a clinical resource in the management of patient care.

n Performs the role of code call nurse, to respond to patient care emergency situations.

n Provide clinical consultation to staff

n Assist staff in managing unit activity

n Collaborate with other departments to facilitate/support patient care

Administration – Provides nursing administrative and operational support on the evening, night, and weekends and on holidays.

n Serve as onsite resource

n Coordinate and supervise activities like mass casualty plan, infectious disease outbreak, fire evacuation plan in accordance to protocols.

n Communicate with Chief Nurse, Nursing Directors, department managers, and/or administrator on call as deemed necessary.

n Strong clinical, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with all professional and support staff. Be accessible and approachable to staff and patients

n Strong organizational and problem-solving/issue resolution skills

n Knowledgeable about technology that supports the deliver and monitoring of safe and quality care.

n Able to communicate in English.

Licenses, Certification and/or Registrations (if applicable): Specify minimum credentials and clearly indicate if preferred or required

n Hold current PRC nursing license.

n Valid certifications (BLS, ACLS etc.) per hospital policy.

Education: Specify minimum education and clearly indicate if preferred or required

n Bachelor degree in nursing required.

Experience: Specify minimum creditable years of experience and clearly indicate if preferred or required

n Minimum 8 years of clinical practice with 1 year of supervisory/deputy experience in acute care setting. Critical care experience preferred.

n Overseas experience preferred.
