We are looking for a Process Development Engineer to join our Advanced Optics Team. Working on Microsoft HoloLens you will be part of an organization which consists of professionals from the fields of optics, mechanical engineering, micro- and nanofabrication, and process technology.

In this role you will drive the etch process development for fabrication of optical and MEMS components. With the help of your thorough understanding of the physical phenomena in dry and wet etching processes, you will be able to analyze the existing approaches and create completely new solutions. You have prior experience in etching silicon, oxides and III-IV-materials. An innovative and pragmatic approach combined with your can-do attitude and fluent cooperation with other team members will enable you to succeed in this cutting-edge technology environment.

Responsibilities

  • Development of next generation etching and patterning approaches
  • Software development for the execution, simulation, characterization, and analysis of nano- and microfabrication processes and the resulting optical components
  • Analyze process and component data using custom and industry-standard tools
  • Collaborate with experts in other fields, too, to enable the successful integration of the new solutions

Qualifications

  • Strong background (3+ years) in process development in a relevant field, e.g., semiconductors
  • Proven track-record of custom-tool development, including SW
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Self-motivated to take personal ownership and deliver results while working in a highly challenging environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills in complex environments
  • Ability to work effectively with other design disciplines as well as manufacturing to create scalable solutions
  • Growth mindset
  • Capability and willingness for occasional international travel
  • M.Sc or higher degree with background in Technical Physics or relevant field
