We are looking for Process Engineers to join our Advanced Nanofabrication Team. Working on Microsoft HoloLens and Quantum you will be part of an organization consisting of professionals from the fields of optics, quantum technologies, mechanical engineering, micro- and nanofabrication, and process technology.
In this role you will drive the development of processes, tools, and technologies for the manufacturing of nanoscale components. Your background and experience in fundamentals of optical and/or quantum technologies combined with hands-on micro- and nanofabrication skills will enable you to engage quickly in your new role. Your desire for continuous improvement and learning will enable you to adopt and learn innovative technologies and be highly successful long term.
With your open and determined attitude you will collaborate closely and efficiently with other experts within Microsoft and its supplier network. An innovative and pragmatic approach coupled with strong time and resource management skills will enable you to succeed in this cutting-edge technology environment.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on development of new micro- and nanofabrication processes.
- Hands-on development of process qualification and test methods.
- Leading projects from concept drafting to implementation and verification.
- Data analysis, interpretation of process and testing data to drive for continuous improvement.
- Implementation of process documentation and process control mechanisms.
- Collaboration with Design and Characterization team members.
- Supplier management related to tool, material, and process development.
- Technical guidance of process engineers and machine / process technicians.
- Communication of results.
Qualifications
- Excellent fundamental understanding of micro- and nanofabrication and characterization technologies.
- Hands-on knowledge of typical fabrication processes, such as lithography, deposition and etch processes, and associated metrology.
- Hands-on attitude with the ability to use structured problem-solving techniques to drive rapid issue closure.
- Self-motivated to take personal ownership and deliver results while working in a highly challenging environment.
- Growth mindset.
Excellent oral & written communication & teamwork skills in English - Capability and willingness for international travel.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. degree with background in Optical Sciences, Quantum.
- Technologies, or related Engineering field.
